Tax Analyst

We’re hiring a Tax Analyst to support our tax function in one of the most exciting and innovative emerging technology areas - blockchain. You will play a key role in the operational effectiveness of the business and create value, while also protecting the organization and building best in class risk management processes across our global operations.

What we’ll accomplish together:

• Work with the broader finance team to obtain a understanding of the business and assist in all tax related matters.
• Assist in the preparation of indirect tax returns in domestic and international jurisdictions.
• Assist in overseeing the preparation of Canadian and US corporate income tax returns.
• Research and document various tax issues impacting expansion into new tax jurisdictions.
• Prepare working papers and supporting documentation for returns filed and positions taken.
• Assist with various tax matters including but not limited payroll, sales and indirect tax, corporate, transfer pricing and international tax.
• Assist with the preparation of year end tax provision.

A little about you:

• Broad knowledge of Canada/US corporate tax, experience in indirect tax will be an asset.
• A CPA designation or equivalent with minimum 2 years of post designation experience in a tax-focused role.
• You are capable of applying your skills across a variety of use cases; inflexible specialists need not apply.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to grasp new technology (MS Office, Avatax, etc.).
