Sr. Lead Software Engineer

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer, you will lead and support the building of a strong software engineering team(s) that implement software based on product and market requirements. You will manage timely deliverables for proof of concepts, pilots, and products in different verticals such as energy, healthcare and e-gaming. With your extensive software engineering experience, you will support the team and to be able to implement proof of concepts until a team is built. You will report to the VP, Solution Architecture, but interface with multiple cross functional teams across the company to ensure a successful execution of all deliverables.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Managing one or more software engineering teams using the agile method.
• Developing solutions, constraints, risks, and resource allocation.
• Collaborating with colleagues from other disciplines to create innovative software solutions.
• Delivering proof of concepts and pilots in collaboration with external partners.
• Deriving solutions from design diagrams and product/software requirement specifications.
• Providing thought leadership on systems architecture and engineering.
• Integrating or reproducing solutions written in different languages and frameworks in a concise and accessible manner.
• Developing highly available mission-critical applications, writing unit tests, integration tests, and automated test routines for our CI/CD platform.
• Analyzing and developing software integration with third-party systems over multiple protocol layers.
• Debugging technically demanding challenges and helping the application’s target audience to succeed in their business.
• Creating and maintaining project technical documentation and user manuals, examples, and tutorials.
• Learning new technical and management concepts needed to perform the tasks required by the project, including by attending to training, reading books and research papers, and querying colleagues.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

To succeed, you will need to build complex software as lead of one or more software engineering teams and interact with cross-functional teams across the company. Pragmatism, willingness to dive into new codebases, learn new concepts, work with different stakeholders, and leadership are desirable key strengths. You have an experimental mindset and a desire to build things from the ground up or optimize ones that already exist, and a sound knowledge of proven experience in designing solutions architecture, software engineering, and software development. A startup and “can-do” mentality are necessary to be successful in this role. Furthermore, a strong sense of teamwork and a constant willingness to growth and solve new challenges are required.

You have profound experience in proficiency in software engineering, algorithms, data structures, computer networks, and some knowledge of applied cryptography (Hashing, AES, ECC, ECDSA, ECDH, EdDSA, etc.). It is necessary for you to have an understanding or be willing to learn blockchain technology, especially Distributed Ledger technologies, such as Ethereum and cryptography.

Interest and/or knowledge in the following topics is a plus:

• Highly scalable production distributed systems
• Applied Cryptography
• Software architecture paradigms and how they can be used to solve different class of problems
• Interest in the application of technical innovation to solve real world problems in different verticals

YOUR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

MS/MA or Dipl./Grad in Computer Science or degree in Software Engineering or equivalent technical field. At least 2 years of management experience, preferrable leading SCRUM or other agile teams. Experience working with different internal as well as external stakeholder to bring a product to market and/or create innovative solutions. Five years of proven experience developing mission-critical distributed applications. Must have proven startup experience working within a startup environment at the growth stage. Proven experience in programming with different languages and paradigms, development of client-server applications in any language, and working in international, non-native English speaking, agile teams.
