PR Lead - Australia

We are looking for a smart, media savvy PR specialist to lead our corporate and brand communications programme in Australia. The role will involve working closely with the global PR team, the Country Manager, local marketing leads as well as the local PR agency to build, execute and own the PR strategy for Australia.This will include using the corporate news agenda, industry partnerships and initiatives, influencer partnerships and locally developed PR activity to build the Luno brand.

Your mission will involve:

• Working closely with Luno’s Global PR Manager and the local PR agency to plan and execute a local communications strategy for Australia
• Taking global plans and working with the PR agency to localise them with core themes and content, identifying local spokespeople and managing regional KPIs and reporting
• Build and maintain relationships with relevant business, technology, fintech, consumer media and influencers
• Develop a thought leadership platform for key spokespeople in Australia through media opportunities, speaking, event and awards programmes
• Management and prioritisation of inbound enquiries, material development, tracking and reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Work with the PR agency to develop quarterly plans including all key milestones and country launches as well as a steady drumbeat of high impact activity eg: news hijacking, proactive pitch ideas, host media briefings, interviews, award submissions, speaker slots/event
• Creating compelling copy for both owned and earned media
• Managing local reporting and planning structures

‘ The ideal Lunaut for this role, will have’

• Strong PR experience either in house or at an agency, ideally with a mix of experience in technology or fintech (although this is not a prerequisite!)
• Good relationships with a broad mix of media for example - consumer, personal finance and lifestyle, fintech and cryptocurrency trade publications
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with a knack for simplifying complex topics and technologies and economic trends
• Used to driving comms yourself and getting your hands dirty - this means writing, pitching, calling and meeting journalists on a regular basis rather than always deferring to the agency
• A desire to do the research before campaign launches - including competitor landscape and positioning
