As a Senior Backend Internal Tools Engineer, you'll join a small but growing team responsible for evolving business-critical internal support systems and processes vital to our borrowers and field partners. You'll play a key role in leading the technical development of Internal Tools modernization efforts, while working cross-functionally with key business team stakeholders.

This role is open to both remote U.S. based candidates and candidates local to our Portland or San Francisco offices, and will report to an Engineering Manager based in San Francisco. At this time, we can only consider applicants with authorization to work in the United States on a permanent, full-time basis; unfortunately we cannot provide visa sponsorship.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with:
    • Writing maintainable code, with a preference for JVM languages and frameworks (Kotlin, Java, Spring Boot, etc.)
    • Writing modular, loosely coupled, object oriented code
    • Writing well-tested code using an xUnit test framework or similar
    • Event driven architecture (using Kafka, Confluent, or similar)
    • Container based development (Docker and Kubernetes)
    • Using and/or creating GraphQL APIs and Restful APIs
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience

Preferred:

  • Experience with LAMP Stack or similar (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP)
  • Familiarity with AWS and Dynamodb
  • Familiarity with continuous integration
  • Experience working with OAuth or other modern authorization frameworks
  • Experience with SDK creation and writing API documentation
  • Experience as a tech or team lead
  • Experience in platform (back end) development

  • Salary Range for Colorado: $115K - $140
