Senior DevOps Engineer - Matrix

A sophisticated infrastructure platform is needed to support CertiK's rapid cloud-based product iteration. As a DevOps engineer, you will be responsible for making and documenting architectural and technologies choices. You will engage with the product engineers and data scientists to understand their infrastructural pain points and needs, and you'll provide solutions and support to empower them for fast iteration. You will own fields like infrastructure orchestration, CD/DI, reliability engineering, security, access control, and monitoring. You will keep up with the latest development in cloud infrastructure and DevOps, reevaluate architectural choices and coordinate migration if needed. We are growing fast and our infrastructure is expected to expand rapidly. As an early member of this team, you will be able to shape the infrastructure and DevOps design and play a significant role in this journey.

Responsibilities

• Own the SDLC of the team's data pipeline
• Own tools such as airflow and dbt
• Write python scripts to automate data DevOps (or in other languages)
• Understand, explore and deploy industry best practices in DevOps
• Form strategies on how to simplify the complexities during and after fast system and team scaling, design for security, reliability, and developer productivity
• Drive system visibility
• Drive team DevOps processes and make sure that everyone is on board and follows the process
• Contribute to a culture of sufficient and succinct documentation
• Articulate the challenges in DevOps
• Form metrics and communicate the status, progress, and plan in DevOps
• Drive tech stack evolution (current tech stack: snowflake, confluent, metabase, airflow, dbt, aws, python, docker.)
• Drive the postmortem process
• Constantly look for edge cases and pitfalls in our system design and follow-through
• Aggressively prioritize tasks
• Organize DevOps roadmap and improvements list
• Operating blockchain nodes

Qualifications

• A passion for devops, reliability engineering and automation
• 3+ experience working in large industry system devops
• Experience working with AWS and github-rrelated CD/CI
• Experience working with one large-scale CD/CI pipeline
• Experience working with a sizable monitoring and operation pipeline
• Experienced in ramping up on a new technology / fields in a week
• Document everything
• Experience in improving a nontrivial system to the max
• Expert in linux, bash, ssh, http(s)
• Expert in python or another scripting language
• Experience in describing and visualizing complex concepts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in airflow, dbt, amudsen
• Experience leading a team
• Experience in startup, blockchain/smart contract/DeFi
• Strong contributor to open source community
