Decentralized Storage / Filecoin Mining Ops Infrastructure Engineer

W3bCloud is looking for a versatile infrastructure engineer to help setup, monitor and maintain large scale storage, networking, mining equipment and software on bare metal. Working remotely, you will have the opportunity to set up new operations and help run existing operations. Data center experience is a must, but not travel or in-person data center work is required (we utilize remote hands). Interested candidates should have experience with large scale storage and software defined storage such as Ceph or GlusterFS, as we aim to commit Petabytes of storage to the popular Filecoin storage network. Familiarity with containerization platforms such as Kubernetes is an asset. Come join us and be part of an exciting new mining opportunity.

Requirements

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Architect new Filecoin storage mining operations
• Maintain and monitor existing infrastructure
• Scale storage (Ceph) and mining equipment
• Provision servers
• Configure and monitor network infrastructure
• Monitor, update and scale mining software
• Execute on W3bCloud's decentralized storage roadmap, working closely with business, supply chain and technical teams
• Support the design of high-impact solutions driving new datasets onto the Filecoin network
• Drive and manage end-to-end technical relationships with top enterprise customers to successfully onboard new datasets
• Provide input into hardware design where architecture must be tailored to successfully support Filecoin and other decentralized storage protocols
• Proven technical understanding, analysis and documentation experience

What You’ll Need to be Successful

• Data center design and operations
• Large scale storage engineering
• Network engineering
• Proven Blockchain and Cryptocurrency experience
• Configuration management software (Ansible preferred)
• Monitoring & metrics software (Prometheus, Grafana, Influxdb)
• Aggregated Logging (Filebeat, Logstash, Elasticsearch)
• Linux SysAdmin experience
• Self directed and comfortable with remote work environments
• Are willing to pull-up your sleeves
• Working knowledge of Linux, Web 2.0 development platforms, solutions and related technologies. Understanding of DNS, TCP, firewalls, proxy servers, DMZ, VPN, VPC
