Interoperability Developer Experience Engineer

The Developer Experience team at IOG works on a broad range of tasks, with the overall aim of helping developers excel in their work. This includes providing assistance with build tools, compilers, and continuous integration (CI), as well as building custom tools.

For an Interoperability Developer Experience Engineer a special focus will be on figuring out how to allow cross-language interoperability, building tools to make interoperability easier, and ensuring best practices for documentation.

Nix is used in large parts of our and other teams’ CI set-up.

Your mission

• Analyzing and fixing software bugs in compilers/build systems arising from use of multiple languages
• Helping other teams with challenges in the use of day-to-day tools, and compiling such issues
• Keeping track of documentation best practices
• Coordinating changes with upstream projects.

Requirements

Your expertise

• Excellent knowledge of Haskell and C
• Good knowledge of Nix

Desirable but not essential:

• Good knowledge of TypeScript, Rust, Scala/JVM, Kotlin/Swift/Objective-C, C++, Python/Ruby/shell scripts.
