Senior QA Consultant

IO Global is searching for a Senior Quality Assurance Consultant to join its Professional Services Group. You will have the skills to provide effective consultancy in the QA domain for clients and vendors. It will be your job to ensure that IOG’s quality guidelines are clearly defined, set and maintained in a timely way, and above all followed.

Your mission

• Setting and enforcing quality standards for all projects as an independent entity within the organization
• Making sure that quality deliverables are met as part of acceptance criteria
• Educating vendors so that they are aligned with our processes
• Ensuring that functionality is automated where possible
• Being the ‘bad guy’ who makes sure that quality is never seen as merely a check mark
• Ensuring that non-functional requirements are built in to the vendor development roadmap and are validated
• Working with the Software Development Consultant to ensure that engineering best practices are followed
• Assessing vendors before and after engagement to track risks and identify potential long-term partners
• Developing and reviewing test plan and test report templates
• Carrying out adversarial testing against deliverables to identify edge cases
• Reviewing and auditing automated testing and continuous integration deliverables.

Requirements

Your expertise

• At least seven years’ experience in testing
• Degree or above in computer science, engineering, mathematics, logic, physics, or similar
• Experience in test automation and setting up new frameworks
• Record of testing application programming interfaces (APIs)
• Experience working in an agile set-up (scrum/kanban)
• Practical knowledge of software engineering best practices and testing methodologies
• Expertise in libraries, tools, and procedures for the execution and automation of various types of test (unit, property, integration, end-to-end, user interface, performance, stress, and fault tolerance)
• Record of setting up an automation framework using Selenium or similar
• Ability to pick up new concepts and processes
• Great communication skills
• Experience with virtualization (VMWare, Hyper-V), Linux, Git, continuous integration, and continuous deployment.

Desirable but not essential

• Blockchain development experience
• Knowledge of a functional programming language such as Haskell (although experience with Python, Java, or C# will be considered)
• Performance and security testing experience
• Track record in distributed systems and networks
• ISTQB or ISEB certification.
