We are searching for an Environmental Solutions Architect with a background in environmental accounting who will design tools for evaluating environmental impacts throughout the Filecoin value chain and identify opportunities for applying these tools.

Filecoin Green is a fast-growing initiative dedicated to measuring, reducing and mitigating environmental impacts within the Filecoin ecosystem and beyond. We believe that the core promise of Web3 - to push power to the margins by upgrading our computing infrastructure to be publicly verifiable and widely interoperable - will supercharge environmental accounting over the coming decade and play a powerful role in improving global sustainability. Our team aims to catalyze this by enabling teams across the Filecoin ecosystem to verifiably report their emissions, and to use these data as the basis for impact reductions.

The Environmental Solutions Architect will be responsible for both designing protocols allowing data on environmental impacts to be shared across the Filecoin value chain, and working to foster partnerships leading to the adoption of these protocols.


As an Environmental Solutions Architect in Filecoin Green, you will…

  • Work with numerous stakeholders and organizations to understand technical and business requirements for Web3 native environmental accounting tools
  • Draft technical standards for APIs sharing publicly verifiable environmental impact data such as energy consumption, Scope 1-3 carbon emissions, and environmental products designed to mitigate these impacts
  • Develop a strategy for promoting the adoption of Web3 native environmental accounting
  • Investigate opportunities for demonstration projects showing the potential of these tools
  • Promote storage of useful environmental datasets on the Filecoin network
  • Identify events and industry groups which the Filecoin Green team should engage with in order to increase visibility and build partnerships

  • Familiarity with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol or Science-Based Targets
  • Knowledge of Renewable Energy Certificate markets and/or Carbon Credit markets
  • Developed a business strategy for a startup or high-growth team
  • Familiarity with at least one programming language such as JavaScript
  • A deep professional network in the renewable energy industry
  • Experience speaking at conferences, meetups or virtual events
  • A genuine passion for issues related to energy, environmental justice and environmental sustainability
