Legal Intern

The Legal intern will work closely with two senior lawyers (and up to five lawyers) in the NY office, supporting the team on a variety of tasks.

  Our Legal team are looking for a bright, passionate and conscientious intern to join them over the spring period. The intern will work closely with a senior lawyer in the Singapore office (and up to seven other lawyers from other offices (London, New York).

• Assistance with the contract management process surrounding various agreements including multi-party software development agreements, membership agreements, collaboration agreements and others
• Supporting the team with general corporate legal work
• Drafting, proofreading, and reviewing of documents, including templates and checklists
• Conducting legal research and compliance checks
• Providing legal administrative support as required by the wider team

Experience & Education

• You'll have a passion for corporate law & blockchain as well as previous legal experience (internships)
• Previous experience drafting legal documents is advantageous
• An interest in commercial, corporate & banking law as well as start-ups, fintech and/or blockchain technology is essential
• Strong analytical and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work alone as well as in a team in addition to being able to manage multiple (changing priorities)

Additional Information

• Please note the start date for this position is Monday, 7th February (subject to change) and our internship program lasts for 12 weeks; at present we can only consider applicants that commit to these time frames.
• This internship will be for 1 or 2 days per week.
• Moreover, we cannot provide sponsorship for this position so in order to be considered, candidates will need to have the right to work in Singapore.
• We hope to be able to offer at least some (if not all) of the 12 week internship in person this year- although this will be dependent on the ongoing pandemic and each countries individual guidelines and restrictions.

Experience & Skills:

• An interest corporate law & banking law as well as previous legal experience (interns)
• Interest in start-ups, fintech and/or blockchain technology is a must
• Analytic and diagnostic skills
• Previous experience in finance, technology and/or drafting of legal documents is a plus
• International experience and foreign language(s) fluency would be beneficial
