IO Global is searching for a Data Engineer to join their Professional Services Group.

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, monitoring, and performance of our data processing pipelines in the cloud. You will recommend and implement robust and scalable data integration processes, mainly on AWS, and proactively approach colleagues to advise them on data architecture and big data solutions.

Within the Professional Services Group, you will create and maintain crucial services in the cloud to support our projects in blockchain technology. If you are eager to help to develop this new industry, you are in the right place!

Your mission

  • Collaborate with internal groups to gather requirements and advise on data architecture and big data solutions.
  • Monitor services and processes, and react timely.
  • Design and build robust and scalable deployments, using mainly AWS technologies and the ‘terraform’ tool.
  • Scripting and programming in Python, with unit tests covering core functionality.
  • Dockerize services and deploy them on Kubernetes.
  • Help in keeping our CI/CD pipeline up to date.
  • Proactively maintain our knowledge base on services, data sources, and their relationships, and plan maintenance work accordingly.
  • Participate in our agile process and provide feedback in PR review

Your expertise

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field (eg. Computer Science, Engineering).
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in one of the following areas: data engineering, cloud engineering, distributed computing, database management.
  • 3+ years of experience with SQL, graph databases, and stream-oriented data processing.
  • Profound experience with AWS services, or another cloud provider.
  • Experience with scripting in Python.
  • Experience with web technologies and reactive programming.
  • Basic knowledge of the agile process and project management.

Location

IOG is a fully distributed organization and therefore this is a remote position. Due to team distribution we are ideally searching for someone in a European or African timezone.
