Developer Experience Lead

The Developer Experience Lead will build a keen sense of what tools, libraries, and capabilities DApp developers are seeking. They are both the voice of the customer and the development lead, shaping the end-to-end developer experience. The role will involve conceptualizing, defining, and leading the work on various tools and frameworks to make development easier.

Your mission

• Develop solutions such as developer tools, libraries, and add-ons to improve Cardano’s developer experience, particularly the end-to-end experience of building DApps using Plutus.
• Validate and experiment with early/pre-release feature developments to help ensure a robust and consistent developer experience.
• Identify and ideate key features, tools, and libraries that can make the process of developing and testing smart contracts easier, faster, and secure.
• Prepare well-informed reports of developers’ needs and detail the business and technical requirements to implement a solution.
• Author and engage with the developer community via documentation, curated presentations, demonstrations, and learning guides to make it easy for developers to adopt and begin building on Cardano.
• Build rapport and foster relationships with the Cardano ecosystem as a researcher/evangelist to build an understanding of their developer experience, common issues, and feature wants.

Your expertise

• Haskell experience, either professional or otherwise.
• Strong communication skills, paired with a track record of being able to build meaningful rapport with the developer communities
• Strong reasoning capabilities with the drive to arrive at the root cause of developers’ wants
• Enjoy being a “force multiplier” for other groups
• Prior experience working as a developer and alongside development communities
• High-level understanding of programming concepts, data structures, and algorithms.
• This role is analogous to a UX lead role in that a UX lead role represents the voice of the customer, which is an end user, whereas the DevX lead is the voice of the developer using our infrastructure and tools to build DApps

Location

IOG is a fully distributed organization and therefore this is a remote position. Due to team distribution we are ideally searching for someone in a European or US East Coast timezone.
