Operations Director, Wyoming Special Purpose Depository Institution COO (Remote)

Responsibilities

• Oversee all operations for Kraken’s Wyoming Special Purpose Depository Institution entity
• Build out the operations team for the SPDI and provide ongoing leadership and guidance
• Oversee the build out of all necessary systems to fulfill SPDI requirements, including integration with existing platforms
• Define and implement all necessary operational processes to both fulfill compliance requirements and deliver a superior client experience
• Work with the product/engineering functions to ensure the Kraken platform fulfills SPDI business and compliance requirements and delivers targeted functionality (e.g. FedWire, Fed Master Accounts, Automated Clearing House, correspondent banking, etc.)
• Work with other operational groups (Security, Client Services and Operations, etc.) to define, implement, and execute SPDI specific processes
• Successfully prepare for and complete all audit and regulatory exams
• Continuously improve operations to maximize effectiveness and efficiency through data driven decision making

Requirements

• Entrepreneurial self-starter with a willingness to collaborate with others
• 15+ years of experience in operations or general management
• Past experience as a senior leader within a bank or other regulated financial services firm
• Deep knowledge of financial products and regulatory compliance, including payments, trust services, BSA/AML and Capital Markets
• Ability to oversee and/or partner with all functional areas of business - operations, sales, marketing, product, finance, etc.
• A track record of success in growing businesses and scaling operations to meet continually increasing demand
• Experience with all necessary banking systems to fulfill SPDI requirements, including integration of banking platforms
• Analytical expertise and data driven decision making skills
• Superior project management skills
• Strong command of financial statements and fiduciary duties
• Technical background or knowledge of software/internet products and services, a plus
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Strong interest in cryptocurrency a major plus
