The Position

As part of our continued growth, Solidus is looking for an entrepreneurial Head of Policy in the European Union and the United Kingdom.

This key team member will play a leading role in developing and driving Solidus’ expansion strategy in the region, combining policy and compliance expertise with strategic business development. They will be expected to harness their expertise in the digital asset regulatory and compliance landscape in the region to generate new business opportunities, while also maintaining Solidus’ role as a resource for financial regulators on the bleeding edge of digital asset risk market abuse and manipulation. A key part of this role will be prospecting and engaging new clients, and utilizing compliance and policy expertise in supporting our sales team to see deals through to the finish line.

A strong Head of Policy will have a significant policy and government background, as well as demonstrated business acumen, and should be ready to work against business development quotas. They should have a knack for identifying strategic marketplace opportunities and their interplay with evolving policy, as well as a genuine passion for the potential of safe and regulated crypto and DeFi.

The ideal candidate must be passionate about Solidus’ work, vision and values, since she/he will play a central role in furthering their depth, reach, and impact.

• Regulatory relations: Initiating and maintaining relationships with regulators, industry organizations and government agencies in the EU/UK is key to Solidus Labs’ strategy, business development and mission. The Head of Policy will be required to take lead on this effort, demonstrate expertise in local crypto regulation, and work closely with the executive leadership to identify regulatory leads, pursue them, generate and run in-person meetings, and maintain those relationships.
• Content generation: In order to be successful, the Head of Policy, EU/UK will be required to generate internal and external facing content that supports their effort and develop a significant presence on relevant social media. Potential examples include client-specific documentation, regulatory analyses, etc.
• Marketing and PR: As part of their work to advance business in the EU, the Head of Policy is also expected to identify, develop and execute valuable marketing and PR opportunities in the region across all channels, interview with the media, represent Solidus and speak at events, etc.
• Ongoing support: As needs shift and hurdles arise, be prepared to offer support to the executive, marketing, operations and product teams in a variety of ways.

• 8-10 years of combined experience in both digital asset policy and business development
• An extensive ‘Rolodex’ and network of relevant local contacts in the financial and crypto industries, that would allow hitting the ground running.
• Proven record in developing and executing business development strategies, as well as hands-on generation of new deals and sales enablement.
• Intimate familiarity with the crypto, digital asset, finance and financial regulation spaces in the region.
• Hustle, eagerness and audacity

• Based in France, the UK or Germany
• Fluency in English, French and German
• Familiarity with the regtech, compliance and financial crime spaces
