At cLabs, the team working on the open source platform Celo, our mission is to build a financial system that creates the conditions for prosperity for all.
Celo aims to remove the barriers for large-scale adoption of cryptocurrencies as means of payment. Using a novel address-based encryption algorithm, the Celo protocol makes sending money as easy as sending a text. Celo is an open protocol enabling many to participate in the system, even with a budget Android smartphone. The first application launching on the Celo platform, Valora, is a social payments and money transfer app, aimed at developing markets.
As an Accountant at cLabs GmbH, you'll be working in a fast growing and dynamic team, as we scale our accounting operations and processes in Germany and beyond. You'll be at the forefront, working with our talented team to ensure timely settlement of transactions and reporting while developing robust internal controls and managing day-to-day financial activity.

You Will:

• Support financial operations in Germany, including coordinating with our payroll and tax provider and local authorities
• Participate in and manage accurate and timely month-end close processes
• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and operations
• Complete payments and control expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices
• Assist our global team with system implementation and help create more efficient accounting processes
• Support ad hoc financial information requests and other special projects as needed

You Have:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration (BWL)
• Strong IFRS accounting Knowledge
• General VAT accounting knowledge
• 2-5 year of account operations experience
• Fluent in German and English
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills
• Good problem-solving and time management skills
