We are seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to provide support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks. This role will report to the Director of Finance and be a key position in the growth and development of the finance function.

The successful candidate should be well-versed in accounting principles and thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities – a self-starter who can work independently but who is also a good team-player.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and adjust journal entries.
  • Record and categorize expenses.
  • Analyze and reconcile internal general ledger accounts and bank statements.
  • Maintain the general ledger chart of accounts.
  • Prepare financial reports.
  • Keep control of customer invoicing.
  • Maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Synchronize credit card and expense management tools.
  • Research and correct account discrepancies.
  • Assist with compiling year-end external audit requests.
  • Prepare tax returns and ensure that taxes are paid properly and on time.
  • Assist in the preparation of budget and cost control.
  • Analyze and explain monthly balance sheet and income statement fluctuations and variances.
  • Suggest and implement formal GL closing and other accounting process procedures.
  • Research important accounting issues and suggest the best practices and applications in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Assist team with any ad hoc research, clean-up, reporting projects.
  • Work with various departments to streamline data flow and processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • 3-5 years of total experience.
  • Understanding of GAAP standards.
  • Firm grasp of intermediate accounting principles.
  • Hands-on experience in the financial close process (preferred).
  • Knowledge of MS Excel and cloud-based accounting software (NetSuite preferred).
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and good time management.
  • Willingness to meet deadlines on a consistent basis.
  • Comfortable handling and storing confidential financial information.
